LOCOMOTION BRAND DESIGN

CORPORATE IDENTITY

Locomotion is a clothing brand that is inspired by street fashion. The brand is a small business that pops up as a touring shop on UK train lines. From the design to the branding it is all inspired by train materials and aesthetic. Locomotion is targeted at young adults that are into street wear and keeping up with the new clothing trends.

THE BRIEF:

Create a brand identity based on three words chosen at random. My three words were transport, fashion and buildings. We were allowed to discard one word and decided to eliminate buildings. From this we would create a brand guide, logo, and other promotional material.

MY APPROACH:

I wanted to capture the essence of street fashion, through bold typography and bright colours. The branding needed to attract my target audience of young adults which were from the ages of 14-25 year olds. By having our branding stand out in the stations that the company would be touring on. Clear communication and relevant branding that would catch your eye as your passing bye was crucial when promoting in such as busy area. By having a brand that was exclusively only to be found at limited locations and times would make the shop a sought after experience rather than just a average shopping trip.
